The beaches of the Moscow region attract with cool ponds, shady parks and forest edges, fragrant barbecues, active recreation and walks on the water on boats or catamarans. It would take a long time to list the endless options for holidays in the Moscow region with a beach. However, we would like to warn you that relaxing near the water is fraught with danger, especially in the summer heat. Therefore, when going to the beach, read the rules for providing first aid to a drowning person and the rules for providing assistance for heat and sunstroke.

First aid for a drowning person

Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations advise: if you see a drowning person on a beach in the Moscow region, first of all, call other people for help:

  • swim up to the drowning person, grab him from behind by the waist or armpits and transport him to the shore;
  • if the victim grabs you, push him away from you or dive under the water, and then try to grab him again;
  • Having pulled the victim onto the beach, turn him on his side and clean his mouth of possible contaminants;
  • then place the person’s chest on your knee to empty the lungs of water;
  • after this, start artificial respiration - opening the rescued person’s mouth, take two deep breaths through a handkerchief or napkin.

What to do in case of heat and sunstroke

On a beach in the Moscow region there is always a risk of becoming a victim of sunstroke (such as vomiting, shortness of breath, rapid pulse, nosebleeds, increased body temperature, dilated pupils) or heatstroke (accompanied by severe headache, darkening of the eyes, dizziness and nausea). If a person suffers from heat or sunstroke on a beach in the Moscow region, the following actions must be taken:

  • call an ambulance;
  • move the victim to the shade or a cool room;
  • remove clothing;
  • wipe with cold water or wrap in a wet towel;
  • apply a cold compress to the head;
  • give a cold drink;

In order to prevent sunstroke or heatstroke, it is recommended to avoid fatty, high-calorie and heavy foods. Drink more green and black tea, wear light-colored clothes.

We presented to you the beaches of the Moscow region, which are deservedly popular. Of course, there are many more than nine, but it’s simply impossible to describe all the vacation spots in the Moscow region with a beach. We wish you a pleasant stay!

Previously on the topic Beaches in Moscow and Beaches in the Moscow Region:

According to various sources, there are from 60 to 90 beaches in the comparative vicinity of Moscow - these are only official, “civilized” ones, where there is the necessary equipment, cleaning is carried out and safety is ensured, while there are more than two hundred “wild” ones.

The beaches of the Moscow region are very different from each other in quality, safety, level of comfort, and infrastructure. It would not hurt to thoroughly understand them so that your vacation, especially if we are talking about vacation with children, would be beneficial, joyful and without unpleasant consequences.

Unfortunately, the quality of the beaches near Moscow often leaves much to be desired.

Word from Rospotrebnadzor:
So, according to the results of inspections carried out by Rospotrebnadzor together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, until recently it was possible to swim in the Moscow region in Krasnogorsk, Khimki, Zaraysk, Elektrostal, Chernogolovka, Kolomna and Lukhovitsy. Here are the areas also suitable for swimming: Istrinsky, Dmitrovsky, Solnechnogorsky, Odintsovo, Shchelkovsky, Mytishchi.

Residents of the Volokolamsk, Voskresensky and Leninsky districts are out of luck - there are no officially approved swimming places near them at all.

This fact does not stop swimmers too much, so even the “forbidden” beaches are always crowded. Well, you can understand people, it has always been like this: without swimming, summer is not summer, everyone understands this, even dogs.

By the way, special places for bathing dogs may now appear in the Moscow region, however, all this is at the request of the municipalities; not in all areas, as we see, the situation with the beaches is so good that they can provide comfortable and safe swimming even for children, to say nothing of about four-legged friends. Everyone always wants to swim, but you shouldn’t ignore the “swimming prohibited” sign, especially if there are children nearby.

The biggest danger of wild beaches is ignorance of the bottom, as well as contamination of the water, the beach itself and the same bottom - glass fragments, construction debris often cause injuries received during swimming.

So, the beaches of the Moscow region, where you can still swim relatively safely.

Moscow beaches

Sometimes there is no time or opportunity to leave the city, but this does not mean that you need to give up such a wonderful summer activity as swimming.

Here are the beaches in Moscow where you can safely swim in 2020.
Officially, swimming is allowed in the following recreation areas within the boundaries:

"Big City Pond"

It is located in the city of Zelenograd, the coastal area of which belongs to the beaches of Moscow. The reservoir is located in the central city park, where all the celebrations and festivities take place.

The beach is sandy and quite large. Before the start of the swimming season, the sand is always cleaned and replenished. There is little shade on this beach - this is a minus for those who are not friends with the hot sun.

However, you can always take your own umbrella with you. The water is very clean, the swimming area is fenced with buoys, and there is a splash pool for kids. There are three volleyball courts, as well as areas for children's games, swings and benches. There is a children's sports center and fitness room nearby.

There is also a nearby cafe where you can not only drink tea, but also have a thorough lunch.

"School Lake"
The beach is located in Zelenograd. Good access to the water, a great opportunity for children to swim and play. There are volleyball courts with fences and even stands, tennis tables, a gymnastics town, and you can go roller skating.

Children's play areas are divided by age. Admission and parking are free. There are medical and rescue services on site.

"Black Lake"
This beach is also located in Zelenograd. On the very outskirts of the city, almost in the forest. Previously, Black Lake was large - it was fed by springs, but now its area has decreased significantly.

In some places the lake is overgrown with reeds. The water is very cold even in the heat, but locals love this small beach.

The sand on the beach is imported, but absolutely perfect - fine, white, clean. The entrance to the water is very convenient, gentle. For those who like to dive there is a special bridge. There is a football field and a children's playground. You can go fishing.

"Troparevo"
The beach is located on the territory of the Tyoply Stan reserve. This park was founded in the 60s, it was supposed to have 15 squares - the number of union republics, but this project was not destined to come true. The park turned out to be abandoned and it, as well as the beach, was improved only in 2006.

The sandy part of the beach is small, but there is plenty of grass around it. The bottom is mostly muddy. In some places special bridges have been built for descending into the water, since the banks are quite steep and slippery.

Not every park in Moscow can boast of a variety of entertainment offered to vacationers in this park: a ropes course for children, sports and playgrounds, an amphitheater, rental of electric vehicles and sports equipment. There are also rides, carousels, cafes and free Wi-Fi.

"Meshcherskoye"
It's practically a dacha place. There are no multi-storey buildings here, so it is not too crowded. But on weekends it can be difficult to find a place directly on the sand of the beach, and you may also not find a place in the parking lot, which is designed for 120 cars.
But you can sit comfortably on the grass along the banks of an artificially created reservoir.

Parking a car is more difficult: from time to time, illegally parked cars are towed here. The shore and bottom are sandy, but at a depth of more than a meter the bottom becomes muddy - be careful! There are changing cabins, playgrounds, and shallow water for children. There are rescue and medical services on the beach. Entrance to the beach and parking are free.

"Serebryany Bor-2"
This beach is located in a nature protection zone, which means its cleanliness and order are monitored at the state level. This is one of the most popular swimming places in Moscow.

There is a large free parking lot near the beach. The water is not very warm, it does not warm up well, and the descent to the water is also not the most convenient - the banks are quite steep.

Changing rooms, showers and toilets are free. Sun loungers and sun umbrellas can be rented. There are animators for children, and for adults there is a restaurant where you can organize a banquet or hold a celebration. Entrance to the beach and parking are free.

"Serebryany Bor-3"
This beach has one of the largest coastlines. Gentle sandy or slightly steeper grassy slopes lead to the water. The water is opaque, but warm.

The bottom is mostly sandy, but there are muddy places. There is plenty of entertainment: several cafes and restaurants, where, if you sit on “their” beach area, you can order a fruit salad or dessert directly to your sun lounger, sports grounds for children and adults. The range of services is standard: rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, sports equipment, boats, catamarans.

note that Rospotrebnadzor has temporarily banned swimming on three city beaches, this is:
Beach "Lake Beloe"
Beach complex "Beach Club"
Beach "Levoberezhny"
On these beaches, the water does not meet sanitary standards according to microbiological standards.

Soho Country Club

Do you want to sunbathe on the beach in Moscow? We have collected all the beaches of the capital!

Beaches of the Moscow region, opening the swimming season

It is almost impossible to imagine summer without a pond. A photo of the best beach in the world on a computer screen is clearly not enough. A dacha in the Moscow region, the number one place according to statistics for summer weekends and vacations, is, of course, wonderful, but sometimes you want to lie under the hot sun and sunbathe without thinking about anything, or, if the weather and location allows it, then take a swim. All beaches of the Moscow region are at our disposal. But it’s better to find out in advance where to go and the most important thing that awaits us there, besides warm sand and cool water.

First of all, it’s worth talking about the weather. Going to the beach in the Moscow region too early can be hazardous to your health. The sun in our latitudes heats up well and quickly, but the soil, frozen almost 2 meters during the winter, thaws slowly and remains cold for a long time. Without fear of consequences and without additional equipment, you can sit on the ground no earlier than mid-June.

The first attempts to get out into nature begin, as usual, on the May Day holidays. During particularly hot times, desperate citizens go to relax and swim on the beaches of the Moscow region.

Lying down or sitting on the cold ground is harmful to everyone, especially children. Sitting “on your haunches” or “on your knees” is not suitable. Such a picnic in the Moscow region could end in kidney inflammation and hospitalization. In this regard, when going to the beaches of the Moscow region, we first find out how the recreation areas are equipped.

Relaxing on sun loungers is much more comfortable, but this is usually a paid service. This means we take with us camping rugs, folding chairs and armchairs. The beach mat will become relevant in June, when all the beaches in the Moscow region finally warm up.

Beach safety in the Moscow region

The beach is a place for swimming, often not the safest. Conventionally, they are divided into civilized and wild. Civilized vacation spots usually have an organizer who receives special permission. His responsibilities include cleaning the area, ensuring security, equipping the area with beach cabins, sun loungers, canopies, toilets, parking and catering points.

All these amenities often come with a fee. About 60 civilized beaches open in the Moscow region every year. Usually in such a place there is a playground for sports games, a separate area for water activities and a rescue service.

The wild beaches of the Moscow region are practically not equipped with anything, and no one is responsible for cleanliness and safety there. Any section of the coast can be called a wild beach. The danger of such places lies in ignorance of the bottom.

Rivers and lakes have extremely deep sections, undercurrents or springs. Not all people can cope with strong currents or instant numbness in their legs and arms if they accidentally fall into extremely cold water.

Another option for a wild beach is when there is a recreation area, a descent to the water, and swimming is prohibited. A “No Swimming” sign is placed on those bodies of water where swimming may pose a threat to life and health. These prohibitions should not be ignored.

How to determine where you can swim

On which of the beaches in the Moscow region you can swim is determined by the commission of Rospotrebnadzor together with rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, based on an annual survey of the bottom and coastal area. Checks for the readiness of swimming areas are carried out twice in the summer: in April, as soon as the ice melts, and at the end of May, before the start of the swimming season.

If serious violations are detected, beach holiday organizers are issued an order to eliminate them. By mid-June, a list of beaches in the Moscow region where swimming is officially allowed is published.

The quality of the beaches in the Moscow region is determined by many indicators. First of all, the territory is examined for safety. The bottom of any beach in the Moscow region where swimming is allowed must be safe: no glass fragments, metal fittings, construction or household waste.

Water must meet sanitary standards, i.e. the number of microorganisms in water will not harm the average healthy person. You shouldn’t forget about your health and don’t drink liters of water from the river.

As for the bottom, the ideal option is to swim in silicone shoes, which will protect your feet from possible injuries. First of all, the safety of swimming areas depends on vacationers; if you don’t throw bottles and cans into the water, then dangerous garbage will have nowhere to come from.

Bay of Joy – Malibu

What to take with you

You should pay close attention to what you pack when going swimming at the beginning of the season. It's unlikely that you'll forget your swimsuit or trunks, but there are plenty of things to think about in advance.

Pay attention to whether the place is equipped with sun loungers, if not, do not forget to take a mat or a large towel. And even if equipped, it is much more pleasant to sunbathe on your own mat, carefully and regularly wiped after use.

A hat is required for both adults and children. When you sit on the shore in the shade, keep in mind that you will still be swimming in the direct rays of the sun, so don’t forget a cap and sunscreen.

If you want to not only quench your thirst, but also get a good and even tan, don’t forget to take water with you. It has long been noticed that people who drink a lot of water have skin that stays young longer and tans better.

First of all, the things you will definitely need:

  • tourist or beach mat;
  • headdress;
  • sunburn remedy;
  • drinking water.

We collect other things as desired: towel, sunglasses, entertainment, etc. It is worth thinking about special shoes - walking on sand or grass in office shoes is not very comfortable, and barefoot is not very pleasant. And don't forget the good mood.

Where to swim with children

You can only let your child swim freely in a fenced-off paddling pool. This does not exclude constant supervision of your child. If there are water slides and attractions on the shore, then you shouldn’t let children go there alone.

It is better to position yourself nearby so that the child is always within your line of sight. There are few beaches in the Moscow region where you can swim with very young children, but they still exist.

Beaches on Lake Senezh in the Moscow region

This lake is often called the pearl of the Moscow region for its beauty and purity. It is located 45 km from Moscow next to a pine forest. The lake is famous for its sandy shores and bottom, as well as clear water. There are two equipped beaches on it - Solnechnogorsk City Beach and Veretyevsky Beach.

  • both have toilets, beach cabins and trash cans.

Beach at the quarry in Lytkarino

The beach is located on the shore of a lake that appeared in a sand quarry in the south of the Moscow region, so the water here is clean and cold. It has two territories: paid and free. The paid area is cleaner and has fewer people. When swimming in quarries, it is better to be careful; tools and equipment parts forgotten by builders are often discovered under water.

  • Free admission.

Basic moments

Lake Senezh is 5 km long and 3.5 km wide. The northern bank is made up of an artificial dam 1.5 km long. In the west and east the lake has elevated shores, and in the south it is low and swampy. Its bottom is muddy, and in the area of the dam it is sandy. The average depth is 2.5-3 m, and the maximum is 6 m. Senezh water has long been famous for its purity and transparency.

Senezh is not a natural reservoir, but one of the oldest reservoirs near Moscow, which was formed in 1826, when they began to build a canal connecting the Istra and Sestra rivers. A new waterway became necessary in order to quickly and cheaply deliver stone from the Volga to Moscow, from which the builders subsequently erected the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Many people worked on the canal; it took almost a quarter of a century to build, building three stone locks, a dam and 8.5 km of earthen channel. However, the artificial canal could not withstand the competition with the built railway and eventually ended up abandoned.

Interestingly, at the end of the 19th century, the first hydroelectric power station near Moscow appeared on the dam of Lake Senezh. It was built at the expense of Baron Knopp and had a power of 50 kW. In the middle of the last century, in order to allow tanks to move past the reservoir to the training ground, the old hydraulic structures were concreted and the dam was filled up.

The name of the reservoir comes from the name of a small lake of glacial origin, which today is a bay in its southern part and is called Old Senezh. Today, on the shore of the lake stands the city of Solnechnogorsk, as well as smaller settlements. The Sestra River flows out of the reservoir, and several streams flow into it from the southern side.

Fishing on Lake Senezh

Senezh is considered a paradise for fishing lovers. At any time of the year you can meet fishermen here who catch bream, roach, pike, carp, perch, tench, ruffe, silver and golden crucian carp, eel, gobies and pike perch. The most popular fishing methods are float rods, spinning rods, mugs, girders and bottom tackle (feeder). There are several fishing bases on the lake.

Since 1964, the Senezh fish farm has existed on the lake. Nowadays, this enterprise offers excellent paid fishing to everyone. In addition to carp, roach, perch, pike, carp and silver carp, you can catch trout and grass carp here. The weight of individual fish reaches 10 kg.

Holidays on Lake Senezhskoye

On weekends, many come to the expanses of Lake Senezh to windsurf and kitesurf. In mid-summer, beach lovers relax here. There are boat stations and a cafe on the shore, as well as sports grounds for playing volleyball and basketball. Sandy beaches are paid for and are equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers.

Those who want to spend a few days on the lake can rent a cottage or stay in a hotel at the Senezh House of Recreation and Creativity for Artists. 10 km from the lake is the memorial estate of Alexander Blok “Shakhmatovo”.

How to get there

From Moscow you can get to Lake Senezh by car. First, you need to drive along the Leningradskoye Highway (E105 highway) to Solnechnogorsk, and once in the city itself turn right to Timonovo.

Those who travel on their own take a commuter train to the Podsolnechnaya station. There are direct trains from Leningradsky Station in the capital to Podsolnechnaya. Electric trains traveling from Moscow to Tver, Klin and Konakovo State District Power Plant also stop here. Travel time – 1.10-1.15. In Solnechnogorsk, you need to change to bus or minibus No. 25 going to Timonovo and go to the “House of Artist” or “House of Fisherman” stops.

We leave - through the city, turns from the Moscow Ring Road are closed - onto the Leningradskoye Highway towards Solnechnogorsk, approximately 51 kilometers. And then there are two options, depending only on the congestion of the route. You can drive through Solnechnogorsk almost completely and then turn right onto Naberezhnaya Street, which smoothly turns into Timonovskoe Highway. We drive about 2.5-3 kilometers to the dam - and then we choose a place to rest. “Old” Senezh is on the left, new one is on the right: the modern lake was formed artificially, 200 years ago. The second option of arrival (longer) is - before reaching Solnechnogorsk, after the village of Dubinino, turn right and through the village of Redino get to the village of Senezh. There may be problems with parking: cars are mostly parked on the sides of the highway. The banks are mostly “green”, although today the grass is either burnt out or trampled. The water is not exactly crystal clear, but suitable for swimming.

You can relax in a civilized manner by paying 150 rubles for entry to the beach of any of the nearby holiday houses. The price includes renting a barbecue, although barbecuing on the shore is not recommended now.

Diving and surfing were offered as active recreation, but the latter is no longer available due to the lack of good wind - heat. There is no need to stock up on food items to take with you. There are shops in the villages, in addition, if you pass Solnechnogorsk, there are McDonald's and Rostiks.

Recreation area "Meshcherskoye", Vostryakovsky district, Moscow region

The convenience of this recreation area is its close location to Moscow. Inconveniences - lack of civilized parking. You can get there either along the outer side of the Moscow Ring Road (shortly after the junction with General Dorokhov Street (Ochakovo) there will be an exit to the right, onto Voskresenskaya Street. We drive along it a few hundred meters until the second turn to the left - this is Meshchersky Avenue. It’s better to leave a car and a couple somewhere here walk hundreds of meters to the water.

The second option is to enter either from Ryabinovaya Street or from the inside of the Moscow Ring Road. We pass under the Ring - and as soon as the country houses appear on the right, we turn right - this is still the same Meshchersky Avenue. Before the heat, only residents of the village and rare Muscovites vacationed here, but today half of the Western District comes here. On the beach there is a volleyball court, a children's playground, benches, changing rooms, a drinking fountain, free dry toilets, showers and a cafe. There is a rescue center, a first-aid post and a police station. Boat rentals and free parking are available. There are plenty of bins and garbage containers. Sand is only near the shore, so you will have to sunbathe on the grass. The swimming area is fenced off with buoys and there is no children's beach.

Rublevsky Beach, Myakininskaya floodplain of the Moscow River ()

Before its “entry” into the city limits, the Moscow River has several floodplains in its upper reaches. One of the closest - one and a half to two kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road - Myakininskaya. You can get here either along Myakininskoye Highway (from the Moscow Ring Road, about 2 kilometers along Novorizhskoye Highway before turning onto Myakininskoye Highway), or by bus No. 127 from the Molodezhnaya metro station to the final stop. Entrance is paid, 100 rubles. They may ask you the same amount for parking your car. On the shore there are several cafes, changing cabins and showers. There are boat and catamaran rentals, a volleyball and football court, a first-aid post and a lifeguard station. The swimming area is surrounded by buoys, and there is a splash pool for children.

You can choose the slightly more distant Pavshinskaya floodplain for swimming. This is either another two kilometers along New Riga, or a few hundred meters after the turn to Myakinino you need to go right, onto an inconspicuous two-row road. Along it to the water is about a kilometer.

Ozerninskoye Reservoir ()

If you leave here in the morning and on weekdays, you can get there very quickly, even though it is 108 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road to Ruza (this is a transit point on the way to two large reservoirs in the west of the Moscow region). We leave on the Minskoe highway - and everything is straight and straight, right up to the turn to Dorokhovo (85 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road. From there to Ruza - 22 kilometers. Here - attention! - a confusing roundabout. The second exit to the right is to the Ozerninsky reservoir, the third - to Ruzsky. The places around are beautiful, the water is still clean, although not cool anymore. The only negative is that you won’t find a civilized holiday here, unless you ask to go to the beaches of the Parus boarding house.

There are populated areas nearby, but it’s easier to take food and drink with you: the locals charge exorbitant prices.

Ruza Reservoir ()

Istra Reservoir ()

One of the water intakes in Moscow, and therefore there is no need to complain about the quality of water here. There are only three places for relaxation and swimming on the Istra Reservoir - near the villages of Malye Berezhki, Pyatnitsa or Trusovo. Near the village of Trusovo, the beach is well-maintained, there are changing rooms, sports grounds, swimming areas for children, cafes and kebab shops. There is a rescue tower and a boat station; you can rent sports equipment, catamarans, boats, and sun loungers.

Pirogovskoye Reservoir ()

One of five located in a cascade - Klyazminskoye, Pirogovskoye, Pyalovskoye, Uchinskoye, Pestovskoye. Officially, there are few places where you can swim, but there is no end to those who want to take a dip, even despite the tragedy that happened in mid-July - when the yacht crushed the swimmers.
The direct route is along Ostashkovskoye Highway (entrance from the Moscow Ring Road or Yeniseiskaya Street) to Pirogovo. In theory, after 15 kilometers, any left turn will lead to water. You can get to the opposite bank if after Pirogovo, after driving another three kilometers, turn left.

But you can also stop near Pirogovo itself - there are three beaches here. Flagman Beach (there are signs along the road) - entrance costs 100 rubles, plus parking 200 rubles. There are changing rooms and showers, playgrounds, football and beach volleyball fields. Sun lounger rental - 250-300 rubles per day. Boat rental per hour - 150 rubles. Products can only be purchased at beach cafes.

The beach next to the “Flagman” is “Dubrava.” Entrance is free, parking outside the beach (if you find a place, ha-ha) is also free. Entry to the beach - 100 rubles. The bottom is sandy and almost clean.

There is also a wild beach, to the left of Pirogovo. Everything here is free, except food in the cafe. The main disadvantages are the enormous number of water transport types controlled by drunken captains.

Klyazma Reservoir ()

First - or last? - in this cascade. You can also get there by train to the Khlebnikovo platform from the Savyolovsky station, but in the heat this is a small pleasure. If you go by car, then along Dmitrovka until the junction in front of the Klyazminsky Bridge (it is impossible to miss it - the cyclopean structure can be seen from afar). After 4 kilometers there will be a sign to the Gorki beach. Admission is free (at least, it was until recently), they may ask for 100 rubles for parking. The bottom is clean (from time to time they check), but there are few amenities of civilization - changing cabins and a cafe. The inconvenience is the same - boats and yachts...

Pyalovskoye Reservoir ()

It will take a long time to get there. Along Dmitrovka, not reaching a few hundred meters to Sholokhovo. There will be a turn-around junction; turn right at it and go straight along the two-lane highway. After driving a couple of kilometers, turn right - and there’s no turning anywhere until you reach the water. True, you will have to look for a place for a free holiday - there are cottage villages with “private beaches” all around. If you want to relax in peace, contact the “travel agencies” that are full of them on the Internet. But you will have to pay for the pass, the price is negotiable. If you like to swim “to the opposite bank”, keep in mind that the Moscow Canal, a navigable river artery, passes through the Pyalovskoye Reservoir.

Pestovskoye Reservoir ()

The drive to it is approximately the same as to Pyalovsky. But, turning from Dmitrovski, remember that after passing Kryukovo, after a kilometer and a half, before Aksakovo, you need to turn left. And along the narrow road, along the Moscow Canal, another 4-5 kilometers. This is the farthest and quietest reservoir. Another option is a left turn at the 23rd kilometer of Yaroslavskoe Highway, along the Small Ring to the Morozki platform - then along Dmitrovskoe Highway.

These are really remote places, a nature protection zone. Pay attention to the signs “Swimming and fishing is prohibited” - here violators are really monitored. It is best to join a group of cars on the side of the road - most likely, there will be a clearing with a clay bank nearby. Lighting fires is, of course, prohibited. And try not to litter - you’ll have to drink this water later.
